WeCookiers Express #54 Running at both ends
March 03, 2026

So sorry!

Hi!

Wow, I've been blown away by circumstances the last few weeks, including huge cookie orders. Not sure what is going on, but great on my end!

I'll be letting you know some of the news in the next periodical.

I debated on staying up all night to get this written today, but I knew with another large cookie order to fulfill today, I would be dragging!

I'll go ahead and keep most of the information from last month's in this one, in case someone didn't get it.

Thank you for understanding.

Ohhh my.

Last week, I found something that I wish I had had when I first started decorating.

I usually do not have a problem with air bubbles with my recipe. However, when I have to make enough royal icing for 2 or more dozen with the same base color, that's when I get the bubbles. Ugh!

If you are tired of mixing by hand and still get bubbles, this is for you. I've updated this tools page. Have a look. You can thank me later.

Marketing Your Business

1. Want more cookie orders? How about offering an incentive for customers? Recently, I posted presale cookies and offered 6 extra cookies for free for the first 2 customers to place an order. I had 6 people within 5 minutes!

2. Get organized enough to know what your presales are going to be each month. Make a printout of a presales order form. Fill in the offered cookies by hand and place them in the cookie boxes.

3. Have you visited insurance offices and left your calling card, er, I mean calling cookie? If it's possible, make a couple of cookies of their logo. People love seeing their own information on cookies!

Tips and Hacks

1. The biggest tip today for royal icing is how to get rid of air bubbles, fast and easy. Dentists use this, and so do resin artists. Hop over to my page and take a gander through this link: Get rid of air bubbles easy!

2. I lazy suzans and courousels as organizers. A few years ago, I bought 2 pencil/paintbrush holders from Dollar Tree. I placed each of them on a cookie turntable with a rubber disc and placed them on top.

I put all of my edible markers in one and my paintbrushes in the other. So cheap and handy!

3. Let's talk round cookies. It's such a pain when they do not hold their shape. I saw this hack the other day...

Immediately after they come out of the oven, place a round glass over each one (work fast), and gently swirl to make them perfectly round again. I haven't tried this, but I will next time I have round cookies to make.
