WeCookiers Express #56 Never seen easy flips!
April 28, 2026

Busy Month Coming!

Hi, my cookier friends!

Are you booked yet for May? Around my neck of the woods, we get a break from many years of Mother's Day falling on the same weekend as high school graduations. This year, they are two separate weekends.YIPPEE!

That being said, I over-booked myself and have been hustling!

I know I have always included both celebrations in the May periodical, but I have to make an exception this year.

You still get the flips and inspo though!

Being so busy, I try to save as much time for myself as possible. I just had this order picked up for a birthday party.

I decided to pipe large circles with white icing, dried them in my food dehydrator on high for 1 hour. After cooling, I used my food color markers to draw on the animals instead to save loads of time.

One week later, I popped them on the wet flood.

Best Cookie Decorating Tools

Marketing Your Business

1. For Mother’s Day, have a cookie party with the theme ‘Spa Day’. Maybe plan it for the weekend before to make sure there are no conflicting dates between Mother’s Day and graduations.

Use shapes like a bathtub, a robe, slippers, a face with clay/mask, bubbles, etc. Perhaps target friends to make it a surprise for the mothers. You could even offer a discount for a daughter-mother team.

2. Have you thought about joining a charitable group?

This week, I had a returning customer who is involved with a group that stands against child abuse in another community. They have a charitable function soon, and they have a board member who makes decorated cookies.

If you are in a group for anything, you would naturally be the first person they call on for cookies!

3. Host an “Experience Cookie Event”.

In short, host a party with a bunch of your cookies to test. I suggest regular-sized cookies, as mini ones would be a time-waster to prepare. Have drinks and music—anything to make it a memorable experience.

Tips and Hacks

Don't forget to get rid of those air bubbles with this amazing tool...

1. How to make the emerald Icing color per cup: 8 drops blue, 6 drops yellow, and 2 drops black

2. I use a 4” cookie lazy Susan, not bigger. The reason for it is that I can more easily slide the cookie off of it than a larger one.

3. Many cookies will use a rubber pad under the cookie when decorating. I do not. I have no problem with the cookie trying to slide.

This way, I can slide the cookie off into my hand instead of risking picking it up with wet icing. I have a rubber cookie pad, but hate it for this reason.

News on the Most Common Question for Cookiers

I wanted to reach out to you over this. My mini projector pages stay at or near the top of Google searches.

I have written the pages for the projectors as a mini hub to give the best overviews and answer questions to the best of my knowledge.

Fortunately, so many of you have taken the time to contact me with your favorite projectors or your feelings and experiences with them, and the companies, if you have had an issue.

Not only am I truly grateful that you take the time to let me know, but it also helps me to keep my pages current and help others with decision-making and questions.

Thank you for helping all of us with your valuable insights!

I am looking forward to writing about the KODAK Luma I will be purchasing tomorrow!
