Dad Day Fun

Hello!

With all of the hustle behind us, we can now focus on our most important man...dad.

I have really put my brain through it to come up with some unique cutter flips and an inspiration set our customers would go nuts over.

The t-bone steak flips I saw online had no name to credit the original cookier. Boy, are they cute and easy!

Cookie Cutter Flips

Take me to Cookie Cutter Flips galore!

Here are a few fun ones. The t-bone steaks are not my idea.

1. Snowman to crazy eyes (cut off the hat)

2. Candy corn/pie to t-bone steaks, raw and grilled

3. Summer sandles to ears

*Please note, if you have only html set for emails, you will not be able to see images.

These were a silly and fun set to do. A bit different, but relatable, right, lol!

I made you a free download in case you want to do these. They are all set up for your projector on one page. Get it here:

Best Cookie Decorating Tools

Marketing Your Business

1. Have you added your free listing for your business on business.nextdoor.com? This is another ideal place to be found for your local cookie/baking business.

Don’t forget the other free places like Google Business Profile and Yelp! People really do look online first for finding local businesses.

2. For Father’s Day sales, go to a busy store location (you may need permission), and give away cookie samples with examples on a flyer or postcard of Father’s Day cookies you have done. Include an order form and/or contact info to place the order

3. If you want more cookie sales, try prioritizing the ingredients you use and being transparent with customers on them. Knowing what brands of products you use or where they come from can make a significant difference to our more health-conscious society these days.

Tips and Hacks

1. Black is always a color that cookiers struggle with. I ran across this post on FB. I haven't tried it yet, but it makes sense!

2. When taking an order from a new customer and they express that they are unsure how to order, this is usually what I say and do.

"I welcome inspiration photos. However, most people will tell me what they need:

-theme and colors

-names/message/number to be incorporated on the cookies.

Other than that, I'm ready to make your order the best cookies you'll experience."

I then send three photos of cookie sets so they can see my work, and a link to my photos page on FB.

When they respond, I tell them my price, including my minimum, and ask how many they would like.

I have learned through the years that most people seemingly can not answer more than 1 question in each response. Therefore, I need to keep each response short with a question.

Some people are very exact. They want the identical picture of cookies done. I quickly respond with:

"As an artist, we all have our own style/flair. That being said, I strive to emulate inspiration photos, meaning making them better than the photo."

I also advise that I am unable to do anything copyrighted or trademarked, or I could get fined $250,000 before court costs.

3. If you are scared to raise your prices, here is my experience of over 10 years...

I do not give a public notice; I simply start implementing it with the next order.

When I raise prices, I usually see a decline in orders for about a month. After that, the orders start rolling in again.

I almost always get some kind of tip, usually they round up to the nearest $5 or $10.

When the orders pick up to my normal speed, I do not generally get tips for around a month, then gradually it works back into tips like normal.

It's like customers have to get accustomed to a new normal each time. You need to keep up with inflation. Hey, Walmart does!!!

I've never regretted price increases, and you won't either.

This section will not always be included, but if something is trending or news in the cookie world, I'll include it here.

Did you know that 2026 brought in a couple of changes with cookies? Here are the 2 major trends:

1. Cookie consumers are searching for new flavors

2. Customers are becoming more health conscience and will lay out more money for healthier versions of cookies!
