Such a fun day to celebrate...April 19th. It's the official 'Go Fly a Kite Day'. Though this has a double meaning, we can take it for literal kites.

Market kite cookies for take-along snacks for this great family outing day.

I received an email inviting me to be an Amazon Influencer! I was actually shocked. In order to do that, I had to do a considerable amount of prep work and upload documents.

That all happened a week before sending my periodical, so I didn't have a chance to give it my full attention. I do apologize!

I have never seen another cookier do this before. But you can create a kite cookie from any recognizable cutter shape.

These were my first try. I think curving the edges of the piped shapes to the cross would make them look better.

News Update for Shop Gotta-havs

The company I went with, Ecwid, kept raising its costs substantially a couple of times a year. I could no longer justify keeping it up.

Now that I am an influencer for Amazon, I was stretching myself too thin and couldn't keep up with a full shop.

I am, however, looking into other companies for the downloads, like recipes, royal icing transfer sheets, etc. I'll keep you updated.

You can go over to nationaltoday.com to see every world holiday/celebration.

I look for something different and fun to build cookies around. I then market the cookies.

2. It is always good to network with other cookiers across regions/states. Should a customer ask one of your network buddies for a cookier somewhere else, you can hand out each other's name.

Example: A customer is traveling to another state for a function, and they don't want to travel with cookies but would like to pick them up at their destination.

You can message people on FB groups or Instagram to connect. Ask them if they would like to exchange business info.

3. I've been a master engraver and pro calligrapher for decades. I do lives. Often, the company provides refreshments.

To market your cookies, approach jewelry stores or high-end stores (any business, really) and tell them about your business. Provide a folder with everything they need to know, with photos!

Tips and Hacks

BUT IT IS IMPORTANT!!!

For me, this was a life-changing tip I experienced last month.

STOP! Take your hands off the wheel for a week. Forget about everything business. I didn't even check my analytics.

I did this for 2 reasons.

1. I had major burnout 2. I had quite a few offers of big opportunities (like the Amazon Influencer program). I knew I couldn't take it all on. I needed time to come up for air and pray about it.

Sure, I felt lost the first 3 days. Kind of like fasting.

At the end, I learned so much:

1. Stop striving!

2. Care for yourself.

3. Live again in real life.

4. Build a stronger relationship with God.

At the end. I felt cleansed, rejuvenated, and had clear direction.

I know this part was long, but if it is possible to make space on your calendar for one solid week, you will feel like a new person!
