WeCookiers Express #51 Sleigh what? December 02, 2025 |
Hey snowmies!I'm sure you've already been knee-deep in the holiday season with decorating cookies and scouring the internet for new sugar cookie ideas. I FINALLY committed to making a platter cookie set I fell in love with a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, it isn't my idea. I'm just doing my representation of it. You'll see it in the inspiration section below.
Today's Highlights1. Your Question, My Answer2. Cookie-cutter Flips 3. Christmas Inspiration Photo 4. Latest WeCookier's Page 5. Marketing Your Business 6. Tips and Hacks
Your Questions, My AnswerQ: I've been seeing the question lately on what the best meringue powder is.A: There are some that I dislike, but I have been buying in bulk for years. It's hard spending a large portion up front, but if you can, I recommend purchasing through roundeyesupply.com. The brand is Lawrence Foods. This is a restaurant supply place. Let me break down the cost for you. Price $118.49 12 foil bags of 1.56 pounds (total of 18.72 pounds) shipping (stay with me here) $75 Total without tax $193.49 Here is the comparison for Wilton's bought at Walmart... Wilton's price for 19 pounds $507.30 If picked up, no shipping Difference? You save $313.81!!! Yes, but the taste and how it holds up? It's a delicious vanilla scent and flavor. It gives terrific puff and good stiffness for piping flowers and detail work. I love it! I'm not an affiliate, just sharing. Cookie Cutter FlipsHere goes:butterfly = Christmas bow acorn = lumberjack banner = Christmas ornament swag

Marketing Your Business1. What really sets a cookier apart from other cookiers is originality. Use your imagination here at Christmas to promote a cookie that you thought of all by yourself. Make it the best it can be. Maybe a large, 2-cookie gift set?2. Another thing, if you draw a blank, look on Pinterest for particularly amazing cookies. Hone in on one and put a twist to it. This could be a 'Christmas signature cookie' this year to promote on social media. 3. I live in Kansas. It's called the Sunflower state and, of course, holds our state flower. Many businesses in the state use the sunflower in their logo. Recently, I had an order for sunflower cookies. I posted on IG and FB. That brought me more orders from businesses with sunflower logos. Does your state have something similar you can build on for orders?
Tips and Hacks1. Don't have much counter space when cutting out cookies? I use a mug tree holder to hang the cutters on. It's so handy!
-Always opt for natural light first. I often have to rely on LED lights because I stay up many nights fulfilling orders and taking pictures for early morning pickups. -Use neutral light between 3500 and 5000K. (K stands for Kelvin; it's the temperature of light). -For true-to-life colors, use a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 97+
Previously, I placed the platter on a cake board and heat-sealed it as one piece, then sent it out the door. Some customers would order 3 or 4 platters, and it was quite awkward. Now, 2 platters can easily fit in the square box.
